P90x workouts are one of the most popular home workouts on the planet, running you through intense, hard-working workouts. Some people live and die by P90x; some will even tell that it didn't just change their life, but saved their life. It's a powerful workout, but why?

P90x workouts have the basic routines that is standard for any workout - whether it's at the gym or at home - the difference with P90x that is also has some unique workouts. One of those original workouts is the P90x kenpo x workout. You heard me: kenpo x.

Half of you are probably wondering what is kenpo x and the other half are probably wondering how many calories are burned in kenpo x. The kenpo x workout is a mix of martial arts, plyometrics, and cardio; this is a unique mix that you won't see in many other programs; it's engaging, both mentally and physically. At times it will make you wish you never got started with the P90x workout program, yet at other times you'll be thanking that they included kenpo x. It's a workout, like Tony Horton will tell you, "I hate it... but I LOVE it".

Oh - almost forgot: You'll burn hundreds of calories if you do the kenpo x routine.

Kenpo X Review

The great thing about Kenpo x is that even if you're not very good at the different jabs, punches or kicks, you'll still get an excellent workout out of it. It's not like in yoga x where if you're terrible at one of the position then you won't get much from it; with kenpo x you'll be moving so much that even if you do an exercise completely wrong, like jab or kick the wrong way, you'll still be getting a very good workout.

In the beginning you'll feel sore after finishing the kenpo x workout routine - but that's okay. Being sore means you're, most of the time, doing it properly and working hard. Remember that the sole thing the Tony Horton repeats in all of his workout videos is that you have to 'bring it' every time; meaning you have to work hard every single minute if you want to reach your full physical potential. Kenpo x is a great example of this motto: you can go through the routine at half speed and still finish it but you won't nearly get as much as you could have out of it. You know those Jacks and x Jacks you're supposed to do during break? Do them.

By month two and three of the P90x program you won't be feeling sore anymore after kenpo x. In fact you'll probably be a pro at the moves, kicking and punching as well as Tony himself. You might even love the high intensity.

Overall verdict on kenpo x: One of the best P90x workouts. It requires, like all of them, hard work and dedication, but you will get better and you will see results.

I've never done Kenpo, but it looks interesting. I used to do karate and that was a great workout. The big difference between something like this and the P90X workout is that Kenpo offers something more than just a workout, it offers techniques and self defense. In my opinion, that gives it the edge over doing endless exercises.

you need to be really careful with the kicks and make sure your torso is stretched out before. Or you may end up sore or pulling a muscle. Always remember, the more stable your stance, the better the action. Dont make your stance so wide, like some of the people on the DVD. and dont just stand there, your knees barely bent. Feet are usually just a little wider than hip width. Look at karate stances. It helps when doing this exercise routine.
