P90x Yoga Workout
85The Tony Workout
Tony Horton. Can you say legend? This guy does it all. During the workouts he doesn't just sit on the sidelines as cheerleader, but actually gets down and does the work with you - with a little encouragement as well. The P90x workout program, which is run by Tony Horton, is one of the best home workouts on the planet. It encompasses all - chest, back, legs, core, cardio - and does so in a approachable, yet intense manner. It's the best of both worlds.
One of the hardest P90x workouts - or Tony workout's - is the P90x yoga workout. It's so difficult because it doesn't just push the body physically, but mentally too. You have to, at times, will yourself to finish a certain posture. Luckily you have Tony Horton yelling encouragement in your ear; it's almost like having a personal trainer. The P90x yoga workout is one of the most popular P90x workout because it is the most challenging - and the most rewarding. If you thought Ab Ripper X was hard - well - wait until you're finished with the yoga.

P90x Yoga X
Many people, when their program reaches the Yoga workout, skip it. They think: "Oh, I don't have to do yoga. That's too easy. I'll just do Ab ripper x again."
Wrong.
P90x yoga x is actually one of the hardest workouts in the P90x series. It runs at a hour an a half long, and pushes your body physically and mentally to the limit. And when I mean limit, I mean beyond what you thought your limit was, and then a little further beyond that. The difficulty of P90x yoga x also makes it one of the most rewarding workouts - so don't skip through it just yet.
The workout itself is like all the other P90x workouts. Each pose begins with Tony giving a demonstration, followed by a fine tuning of it for different fitness levels. Usually there are three or four people working out in the video and each person is doing a different version of the pose; this makes it accessible for everyone. It also gives you a great goal to strive for: if you start at the easiest pose, the following week you can work for a more difficult one. These are intangible goals that come internally, something which really makes P90x so great.
P90x Yoga X also includes a version of ab ripper x at the end. This one is called Yoga Belly Seven and it incorporates some of the moves from ab ripper x, as well as some additional moves. Oddly, however, it feels easier than ab ripper; this is because the stretching and breathing yoga x demands puts the body in a very relaxed state. When you're finished with yoga x, you'll be feeling like you just got out of an hour long hot tub - you'll feel relaxed, and ready to take on whatever's next. It's a nice peace of mind.

P90x Yoga X Video
I concur - P90X Yoga X is one of the hardest P90X workouts. It's also the hardest Yoga workout I've ever done! The only easy workout is X Stretch out of the P90X set! Cheers.
I love YogaX! It's been a while since I've done the program, but now you've gotten me fired up! Thanks for the reminder that I love Tony 'baloney' Horton. :)
The thing about p90x yoga is that, more than a fitness routine, it is the ongoing fitness test of P90x. I started P90x 6 weeeks ago ( 6'2" 60 yrs. 215lbs.) and I hate the yoga, but I find myself thinking, hey I Just did that move right and I couldn't do it 4 weeks ago, cool.
I don't care how strong you get, if you can't do the yoga routine, you aren't fit.
Nice work and thanks for sharing your view,

I did p90x two years ago and at age 49, I was ripped, but I still looked very female. I loved it. Then I got busy and then moved and I have done it for a week or two here and there, but nothing consistent. I'm back at it in my second week, planning on finishing it again so at 51, I can be ripped again. I'm not that far out. Thank God for muscle memory. Although I do dislike yoga X. I'm afraid of hurting myself as he goes rather fast. I love P90X though. Great workout.
