I, like you, have heard it a million of times. Backlinks are the key to having a high amount of traffic. Backlinks are a must if you want to be successful with Google AdSense. What it's like: I like to consider Reddit the baby to Digg. It has almost the identical format to Digg but isn't as chaotic and busy. This means your chance of getting on the front page is greater.

What it's like: I love Fark, because it - in a way - takes a stab at the rest of the social bookmarking sites. It loves humor, but has a serious side to it as well. The registration is fairly simple but does have process that takes out spammers.

Tips to use: The biggest tip here it to make sure you, in between submitting your sites, post something humorous and fun. The site will love you for it.

What it's like: This can be a real traffic maker as well as a real money maker. Has a partnership with AdSense, so that they the articles that you 'scoop' have ads beside them. You know the drill: if people click the ads you make money.

What it's like: Digg is social bookmarking monster, and probably the biggest one out there. If you can manage to get on the front page, your hub will be hit with an enormous - and I mean enormous - amount of traffic. However, a lot of the time, you'll only achieve a small buzz of traffic from the site. The site will however give you good karma with Google and you'll rank higher.
